JAM Collective was hired to introduce OtterBox’s first cooler to the outdoor industry. After a successful launch, the OtterBox team asked JAM to take over its public relations strategy for all of its consumer products including mobile phone cases, power and accessories! Keeping OtterBox’s mobile cases and accessories in the news with tech editors is always a top priority but what about expanding the reach beyond core tech and into lifestyle? JAM has created unique moments for the brand to engage with lifestyle media most notably activations and surprise & delight mailings.

 

OtterBox Floral Fete

JAM Collective created an immersive floral media event in New York to elevate awareness of OtterBox’s slim, protective floral themed Symmetry cases designs. Close to forty lifestyle and fashion journalists attended.

The floral theme came to life with floral accented cocktails and appetizers as well as a full line-up of floral inspired activations.  The signature activation featured a spectacular “blanket” of dried flowers pressed by artist Tricia Paoluccio. Journalists picked flowers from the display and designed their own unique pressed flower Symmetry Clear case. 

While sipping on cocktails journalists also enjoyed floral manicures, cupcake decorating garnished with fresh flowers and everyone left the event with a small bouquet of fresh flowers they selected from our posey bar.

OtterBox Pattern Play

JAM Collective designed “Pattern Play” at a ceramics studio in New York to highlight OtterBox’s latest slim profile, style-forward case designs.

Inspired by the colorful marbleized patterns of the season, we invited lifestyle journalists for an night of creativity including a case refresh station by OtterBox, hand built ceramics workshop, marbleized ceramics glazing tutorial marbleized ceramic jewelry making table aura reading consult as well as delightful and colorful bevies and bites. The event was attended by close to 40 top-tier, lifestyle journalists who were engaged by experiential and creative activations of the evening!

OtterBox x Star Wars

JAM Collective designed a fur lined press kit that roared like Chewbacca and opened to reveal the brand’s latest Star Wars case design.


 

OtterBox x Marvel

For the launch of OtterBox’s new Marvel cases, JAM Collective created a surprise & delight press kit experience which combined mobile phone case gifting and Avenger themed pizza delivery to NY based journalists.


 

OtterBox Kids Launch

To bring OtterBox’s new kids collection to life, JAM Collective created a whimsical surprise & delight gifting box inspired by childhood pop-up books. To inspire parents to use the case with their kids for various activities such as cooking together and following recipes on a tablet,  JAM worked with a content creator to create custom recipes accessible by a QR code. To complete the story, we included a cooking starter kit with a mini apron and cooking tools in the press kit.
